2022 NFL Week 1 Opening Point Spreads –

May 16, 2022

The NFL season is a mere 3-4 months away and we are taking a look at week 1 point spreads and totals as the season schedule was just published last week. We will also be previewing the bigger matchups of week 1.

The season kicks off with a huge matchup on Thursday night (Sept 8th) when the defending champion Rams take on one of the best teams in the AFC, the Buffalo Bills. The Rams are only favored by 1 point here because it is anyone’s game to win. However, you can bet that the general public will be backing the Rams to the tune of about 75% of sportsbook action.

Another big matchup which will have postseason implications is Kansas City at Arizona. Can the Chiefs still be great without key players like Tyreek Hill? Can the Cardinals still be good even with all of the off-season drama? The visiting Chiefs are favored by a field goal.

Dallas hosting Tampa Bay may be the game of the week. Dallas is looking to make the post-season this year with a healthy Dak Prescott. Tampa is looking for one last hurrah with 45 year old QB Tom Brady. The Bucs come in as 2 point favorites and you may see that line move to 3 by game time.
