The 126th edition of the French Open is set to kick off on May 22, which gives us plenty of time to place our bets.

ATP 2022 French Open Expert Analysis | Tennis Betting

Rafael Nadal Betting Prediction

By the time the 2022 French Open kicks off, Nadal will be 36 years old, which makes him one of the oldest players in the tournament. However, while he isn’t getting any younger, the Spaniard is still considered the main favorite to win, and there is a perfect reason for that.

At 35-years, Nadal is playing what seems to be the best tennis of his career – at least that’s how it seemed recently. He won the ATP Melbourne, the Australian Open, and the APT Acapulco. And as if that wasn’t enough, Nadal also made the finals of the ATP Indian Wells.

Interestingly, Taylor Fritz was the man to put Nadal’s streak of 20 wins to an end; however, we must note that Nadal played that match with broken ribs. So technically, he has yet to lose a match in 2022 while playing 100% fit.

Novak Djokovic Betting Analysis

Novak Djokovic is undeniably one of the best tennis players in history and is always a threat. But he hasn’t been too active of late, and even in the tournaments he has appeared in, Djokovic didn’t seem to be at 100%.

Most notably, Djokovic played at ATP Dubai, where he crashed out after just three matches. Then he attended ATP Monte Carlo but lost in the opening round against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.

Obviously, Djokovic should do better in a Grand Slam, and it’s hard to doubt his chances to go all the way. At the same time, we need to start seeing more from the Serb before we can start believing.

Carlos Alcaraz Tennis Betting Preview

With Djokovic and Nadal (likely) suffering from fitness, we might see someone else push for the trophy. And that someone else just might be Carlos Alcaraz. The trends do work against the Spanish youngster, seeing how since 2005, only four different players ever won the French Open, but maybe it’s time to end that streak.

At the offered odds, the online betting sites seem to agree that Alcaraz is one of the players to come out on top if Djokovic and Nadal slip, and we must agree. Admittedly, he has yet to win a Grand Slam and is only no.11 in the world, but Alcaraz has shown enough to be considered a future star.

He has already won two titles in 2022, including the Miami Open and Rio de Janeiro, with the latter played on clay. Moreover, he has a solid record against top dogs – Alcaraz already won against Matteo Berrettini, Cameron Norrie, and Stefanos Tsitsipas, so he is a threat.

Stefanos Tsitsipas Betting Analysis

Talking about Stefanos Tsitsipas, the Greek is the fourth-favorite to win his first Grand Slam in May, which sounds about right. He had a disappointing start to the 2022 season but made a spectacular comeback by winning his second ATP Monte Carlo title.

With that, Tsitsipas not only ended his 11-month title drought, but he has also shown that he could deliver on clay. And since ATP Monte Carlo is widely considered a rehearsal for the French Open, it’s only fair to have high expectations for Tsitsipas.
