The poker community is buzzing with excitement over the latest bizarre prop bet booked. MJ Gonzales and Bill Perkins have made the bet, which is being dubbed as one of the most unusual in poker history.
The two men will step into the ring for a boxing match with a twist. Perkins, who stands at 6’1″ tall, will be restricted to fighting on his knees, while Gonzales, who is 5’10” and 170lbs, will be able to fight as normal.
Poker Pros Enter The Ring with an Unique Twist
The bet has already caused quite a stir in the poker community, with many questioning Perkins’ ability to withstand the physical demands of not being able to move as easily as his opponent. Perkins himself acknowledged that he is at a disadvantage, but he is in good physical shape and ready to take on the challenge.
Gonzalez, on the other hand, seems to have mixed feelings about his chances in the fight, saying:
“I’m not terribly confident. You get to conserve a considerable amount of energy the whole time. More power for the punches…”
We think he might be trolling us here as the poker community looks convinced that Perkins stands no chance, believing that Gonzales’ freedom of movement will give him a clear advantage.
The fight will be held with standard-sized gloves and there will be no headgear. There will be a maximum of 12 rounds, each lasting 2 minutes. The location and date of the fight have not been announced yet.
This isn’t the first fight seen in the poker community. Bouts like Sorel Mizzi vs. Brian Rast, Olivier Busquet vs. Alvarado, Lex Veldhuis vs. Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier have captured our attention in years gone by. Will this latest fight be as entertaining? We’ll have to wait and see.
Bill Perkins Comes Up with More Memorable Prop Bets
This is not the first time Perkins has made a crazy prop bet. He has a reputation for making wild bets, one of which saw Antonio Esfandiari disqualified from the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event in 2016.
The “Magician” had to lunge for 48 hours to win $50k but his legs ached so much that he chose to urinate into a bottle at the table, outraging the organisers.
Perkins’ prop bets are popular among the poker community and many are looking forward to seeing the outcome of this one.
