Bordeaux Belle, on offer in the Wanamaker’s March Sale.
The Wanamaker’s March Sale took place on Thursday, March 24, with eight offerings selling for a gross of $77,000, led by 3-year-old filly Bordeaux Belle.
A daughter of Malibu Moon being offered as a broodmare prospect by StarLadies Racing, Bordeaux Belle hammered down at $42,500 to Jody and Michelle Huckabay.
On the Wanamaker’s buying process, the Huckabays said, “It was a very easy and seamless process. We appreciated the information provided for the horses, especially the videos on the site.”
Bordeaux Belle will be bred to Upstart in the upcoming days.
Laurie Wolf, managing partner of StarLadies Racing, also commended Wanamaker’s on the seamlessness of selling through the platform for the first time.
“It was very easy and is a great way to sell throughout the year with their consistent sales,” she said.
Other notable horses sold included Last Great, a 6-year-old daughter of Albert the Great currently in-foal to Modernist, and Bond’s Bell, a yearling filly by Blofeld. Last Great and Bond’s Bell each sold for $10,000.
The next Wanamaker’s sale is set for April 28, with entries currently open and set to close on April 19. More information can be found at wanamakers.com.
