With three Grade 1 stakes highlighting what promises to be an outstanding 10-race card, fans will get the opportunity to take a shot at what will likely be a $5 million pool with a mandatory payout in the Memorial Day 20 cent Pick 6 Jackpot at Santa Anita on Monday in Arcadia, Calif.

With Monday’s Rainbow 6 comprised of races five through 10, there is a Rainbow 6 carryover from Sunday of $588,484.  Assigned post time for Monday’s fifth race, the Grade 1, $500,000 Shoemaker Mile, is 3:18 p.m. PT.

The Shoe Mile has attracted a field of six 3-year-olds and up, with trainer Michael McCarthy’s Smooth Like Strait pegged as the 4-5 morning line favorite with Flavien Prat up.

The Grade 1, $400,000 Gamely Stakes, for fillies and mares at 1 1/8 miles on turf, has been carded at race 10, with the Phil D’Amato-trained Going Global heading a field of eight as the 8-5 morning line favorite with Prat aboard.

In addition to the prospect of a $5 million Rainbow 6 pool on Monday, there will also be a guaranteed pool of $500,000 in Santa Anita’s 50 cent Late Pick 5, which covers races six through 10.

A third Grade 1 event, the $400,000 Hollywood Gold Cup, has been carded as Monday’s fourth race, with the Richard Mandella-trained Royal Ship installed as the 6-5 favorite over Ed Moger’s Stilleto Boy at 7-5.  Mike Smith will ride Brazilian-bred Royal Ship, while Juan Hernandez rides Stilleto Boy.
