Two prominent Twitch gamers recently switched from slot machines to sports betting, with one cashing in big on English soccer while the other lost a fortune on the NHL.

Trainwreck, a Twitch streamer, decided to gamble on Thursday by wagering on English Premier League clubs fighting to remain in the top flight. Trainwreck revealed on Twitter that his parlay was pure gold, earning the Texan about $2.7 million.

Trainwreck, whose actual name is Tyler Niknam, placed a wager of over $80,000 on Everton to defeat Crystal Palace at odds of +1.87, Chelsea to draw with Leicester City at odds of +5.20, and Aston Villa to draw with Burnley at odds of +3.55, bringing the total odds up to +34.52.

Xposed, Trainwreck’s colleague Twitcher had an entirely different anecdote to tell. If the Toronto Maple Leafs (+1.80) defeat the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 7 of the NHL Eastern Conference quarterfinal series on Sunday, the Canadian bettor will walk away with $1.4 million.

However, for Xposed, the Lightning had other plans, as they defeated the Maple Leafs by a score of 2-1, costing the Twitcher, also known as Cody Burnett, a total of $779,897.

Lucky Gambler

The English Premier League parlay that Trainwreck offered was not for the faint of heart, particularly when one considers the incredible comeback that Everton and Crystal Palace pulled off in the game.

Everton was down and out with a score of 0-2 against them in the 54th minute of regulation time. On the other hand, the supporters of Everton could smell blood and immediately started cheering for their team when an Everton defender scored. Everton would net two more goals, ensuring their place in the English Premier League for the next season and a multimillion-dollar payoff for Trainwreck.

Mixed results

The gambling fortune solidifies Trainwreck’s ever-growing fame. In March, he etched his name into the annals of roulette history by scoring the two highest wins in the game’s history: $1.65 million on one spin and $2.1 million on the next.

Xposed offers the sharpest contrast available. On Sunday, the Canadian tweeted about his enormous NHL wager loss.

My largest bet ever.

In March, Xposed had a public breakdown on Twitch after gambling away over $850,000 in 40 minutes. The Canadian tossed his chair at his camera in a blatant demonstration of his gambling problems.
