The upcoming weekend in horse racing offers a momentary respite from high-level stakes competition, following a week of memorable events at Royal Ascot ending June 18 and with the domestic Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series set to resume during Independence Day holiday weekend when two “Win and You’re In” qualifying races are run July 2.
Meanwhile, coast-to-coast action is on hand at several top racetracks this week. Live racing from Belmont Park, Churchill Downs and Canterbury Park will be shown on “America’s Day at the Races.” The NYRA-produced show will air from Wednesday-Sunday on FS2 and FS1, with the Wednesday June 22 broadcast covering a stakes-packed evening card at Canterbury.
